Improvements and simplification in the installation procedure.
To link two objects in the SAFRAN (for example, to link impact to facility and to link safety assessment and regulatory framework) - right-click the object’s icon in Object browser and select the corresponding command (for the examples above “Link facility”, respectively, “Link regulatory framework” from the context menu). You can also select command from the list in the Actions window. The window will appear and allow you to select objects for linking.
This window contains two tabs. The default tab “List view” contains the list of objects, which may be linked to the given object. If the list already contains sought object - simply select it in the list and click Link selected object button.
If the list is empty, user can create an object directly in the window’s Tree view tab. This tab contains control similar to the Object browser (tree view) allowing you broad range of operations. The objects which you may select are highlited in tree view by bold font.
If the list in the List view tab is empty or does not contain the object, which is sought for linking, but the tree in the Tree view tab does, it means that objects may not be linked or have been linked (for example, if Safety assessment “S1” is already linked to Regulattory framework “RF1”, then the List view tab will not contain “RF1”).
If properties of a primary waste or a secondary waste components are known in advance, user may add them to the folder Waste components without defining a producer and a waste stream. Properties of those waste components will be accounted for in all assessments in the same way as the properties of waste components defined via waste streams.
To create a new waste component, right click on the Waste components node(is placed in Base configuration under the Areas node in each specific area) and in the context menu choose the Add Waste Component item. In the displayed window, type a name of component and click OK.
The description of waste component can be given in the Properties and Links panel.
Double click on the waste component name to define/modify its properties.

This installation is normally not required. Install it only if you have problems with import/export from/to Excel 2010 in SAFRAN user interface or if you have problems with the Word 2010 in connection to reporting module. Download it:

Installation is packaged in one archive including all necessary software. Logically it is separated to SAFRAN installation and SAFREP (Word add-in) installation. Inside archive user see “Step 1”, “Step 2” directories - the last workshops CDs was organised like this and my impression was that such self-explaining structure was easy for the users . All necessary system files are part of the installations, so it can be performed in “CD-style” and even without having Internet connection.
There is no separeate step for SAFCALC installation. SAFRAN contains SAFCALC as .zip archive and extracts files from this archive before the first run of SAFCALC. Extracting is by default to SAFRAN temp directory under Documents. For the situations when this directory has too low space it is possible to explicitely specify path using Options menu. This improvement resolves all the problems with mixed users/administrative install we faced before and which was the main source of problems during the installation.
After installation the shortcut on the desktop is created (which is new) and association with .saf extention is made (the latest is improved in comparison with the previous versions)
New. Resetting setting to default with new menu item under “Options”. Default options are set as necessary for tutorials.
New. Different possibilities to open safety assessment tables: 1) Always align to the right edge of the object’s bowser window 2) Always maximized 3) Use default size 4) Use size and position od previously opened table and corresponding option. Corresponding option is available via Options dialog.
New. “Lock all tables in safety assessment” - make all tables in assessment “locked” (protected from any changes both in manual and automatic mode). “Unlock all tables in safety assessment”, warning to user recommending to unlock tables individually. Layout improvements for the “Lock table” button (safety assessment tables).
New. Database table - “Momentary breathing rate (in m3/h) for adult male depending on level of physical activity (normal operation)”. Using different inhalation rate values for normal and accidental situations.
Fix. Updates for database tables ScreeningDischargeReate, ScreeningDoseRateN, ScreeningReleaseRate
Fix. Fixing the bug when in the case of inputting wrong value in the table containing of conc. in air (and other similar tables) the cell color is still red even after correcting value.
Fix. Form for inputting names accepts “Enter” as “OK” button.
Fix. Modifications in the introductory text of “Getting startred” form.
Fix. Fixes for bug when possibility of adding user-defined tables was not applicable for endpoints of type Dose attached to impacts of type Other
